Katsu curry - Japanese curry served with tonkatsu (pork cutlet) over rice.
You can use chicken instead of pork.

Katsu curry is a dish that is eaten with Japanese curry rice on top of crispy fried tonkatsu(Pork cutlet).
It is one of the most popular dishes in Japan. It is a typical casual food that can be eaten at home and is one of a favorite food for my family.

I would be happy to share my secret recipe and special tips for the restaurant quality homemade Katsu Curry.

    Rice is a staple food in Japan. In all most every family, there is a rice cooker. There is variety of Japanese rice brands such as Koshihikari and Hitomebore.

Cooking Class Information

Welcome to my kitchen in Tokyo. I’m very excited to cook with you online.

After your booking, you will receive an email with URL, meeting ID and password for Zoom meeting room. You will also receive the list of the ingredients and equipment for the class.

In this class, you can learn how to make crunchy outside and juicy inside Tonkatsu, and how to make Japanese creamy curry from scratch. We use curry powder and some secret flavors for making curry. The compatibility of curry and tonkatsu is outstanding !

After the class, you will receive a recipe booklet to recreate your dishes again and again.

Ingredients
- a slice of pork loin
- cake flour
- egg
- panko
- vegetable oil and olive oil
- onion
- carrot
- potato
- ginger
- garlic
- butter
- curry powder
- garam masala (if possible)
- others- You will receive the list of some secret ingredients by email. All the secret ingredients are easy to get. No worries.

***Please cook rice in advance. You can use any types of rice as you like.

- knife and cutting board
- bowl
- thick and deep pan for deep frying
- pot at least 1.5 liter capacity
- paper towel and a plate
- 2 clean plastic bags
20×30cm at least or large size Ziploc bag
- tong
- folk
- Measuring spoon-Table spoon/tea spoon
