Hi, my name is Takako. I grew up in a Sushi restaurant in Japan as my dad is sushi chef. I’ve been interested in cooking since I was little and I'm still passionate about cooking everyday.
I lived in London for 20 years and taught Japanese cooking to my friends.
I am experienced with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, macrobiotic and of course traditional Japanese food, so please let me know your interest.
My home is near Inokashira Park, which is world famous for cherry blossoms and autumn colours; as well as the popular town of Kichijoji. I can also recommend you fantastic restaurants in the area.

Hands down the best experience I had in Tokyo. The class was really informative and easy to follow - Takako was very encouraging and made getting stuck in easy. Takako was a wonderful teacher, the class culminated in a lunch with her family who were delightful. Her husband escorted us to the station via a tour of the local town which is a must see in my opinion. Would highly recommend. Thank you for making the start of my trip so memorable!!

We booked the veggie gyoza class with Takako and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived she made us feel so welcome and calm! From talking to her about her life to making the best Japanese dishes to meeting her fantastic daughter Lana, it was a once in a lifetime experience. I highly recommend this if you are looking for something authentic and cosy in the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. It was the best day of our trip! Love and hugs to you Takako, can't wait to meet again! xxxx

Takako is a wonderful host, a great teacher and a true cook (she even ferments her own miso!), and making gyozas together with her in her beautiful home was kind of a zen experience to us. Arigato, and a hug also to Lana!

Hi Takako, we had a great time today, starting from the walk through the park and to your lovely home. We were impressed by how prepared you were and your encouragement through the whole process. We enjoy cooking proper Japanese gyozas along with a wonderful salad dressing for a salad and miso soup. The process was well explained and we are now confident that with a bit of practice we will be making gyozas in our own home as good as you do. We are looking forward to book ourselves in another cooking class next time we are back in Tokyo. Thanks for everything, it was so great to meet you.
