Takoyaki is a traditional snack from the Kansai area where I was born and raised.
Most families have a special iron-cast pan to bake in it. Every family has one.

Takoyaki is a light meal that is made from dough by preparing a batter of flower blended with eggs and soup stock and chopped octopus.
If you don't like octopus, you can change to other ingredients.
You can put different ingredients.
[bacon, corn, cheese, Mochi, etc.]
Talk to me about what ingredients you want to add.

Would you like to learn recipes while making fun together with Takoyaki, my soul food that I have been familiar with since childhood?

《Optional Menu》 Japanese Ouelette
1.
Paid on a per class basis.
2.
The payment is due on the same day during class by cash.

If you wish to buy Takoyaki pan, you could get it at large supermarket near my house with tax free.

Let's have fun together!

    Takoyaki

Takoyaki is very cute, small battered balls containing octopus. When you visit Osaka, you can see Takoyaki shops and people wandering the streets while eating it.

Cooking Class Information

Takoyaki is a snack of chopped octopus placed in a batter of flour, egg and dashi soup stock and fried.

①The batter is poured onto a griddle with circular molds, then octopus is added along with red pickled ginger, spring onions, cabbege and deep-fried tempura batter.

②When the dough is a little baked, roll it with a pick.

③Rolls until rounded

④If you bake them round, take them on a plate and serve with sauce.

Red pickled ginger is ginger that has been pickled in plum vinegar and has a sour taste.

Red pickled ginger is an essential ingredient in Japanese flour-based dishes and cooking, and acts as a seasoning.

Tenkasu are round bits of deep fried tempura batter, a mix of flour, egg and water.

Tenkasu is packed with umami, and it is used not only in takoyaki but also okonomiyaki.

Tenkasu, like red pickled ginger, acts as a seasoning, and is an essential ingredient in takoyaki.

The way takoyaki is made can change from region to region. Sometimes konjac jelly is also used to make it.

You can add cheese, corn and bacon as you like

My son and I had a fantastic cooking experience with Bell. She was easy to talk to, friendly and super helpful. We got to try our dishes on the day and they were delicious. Our class was well organised, ran smoothly and we were given the recipes to take home. Bell also gave us advice about alternative ingredients we could substitute with back home. I would highly recommend Bell's class, she was very professional and gave us some interesting insight into Japanese food culture.

Bell was so friendly and welcoming, we had fun and learned so much, not just about cooking but also about life in Japan! This was one of the highlights of our one-month-trip and we highly recommend Bell. After the class she even brought us to a supermarket with her car and helped us find the ingredients. If we ever come back to Japan, we would love to take another class with her! Thank you so much, Bell!

Thank you very much for coming to my cooking class today. I am very honored that even vegetarians can enjoy takoyaki without octopus. I am happy to be able to help you so that you can enjoy it at home. I think it would be very difficult for you to purchase Japanese food ingredients at Japanese supermarkets. I was very happy to be able to help with that. I will continue to work hard every day so that I can teach some traditional Japanese dishes. I look forward to seeing you again someday.
