Cooking Class Menu

●Main dish
Examples of dishes are;
‣Oyako-don (Chiken and Egg with special soy based sauce

‣Buta-don (Pork and Egg with special soy based sauce)

‣Teriyaki (Grilled Chicken dish

●Side dish
Examples of side dishes are followings. We choose one dish in each class.

‣Ohitashi (spinatch or other green and yellow vegetables with Dashi. Dashi is traditional Japanse seasoning made of made from bonito)

‣Kimpira gobo (stir burdock and carrot with Dashi and seasoning)

‣Dashimaki tamago (egg stirred with Dashi and rolled up )

●Miso soup
We make miso soup every day. Each home has its own preference of taste and ingredients. This variety might come from what types of Miso each region make and what are the major local agricultural products.

●Rice
Steamed rice.

With gratitude to choose my class,I will serve you a cup of welcome Japanese tea.

If you have any food preference and limitation, please let me know 5 days ahead of the class.

    Rice

    Rice is a staple food in Japan. In all most every family, there is a rice cooker. There is variety of Japanese rice brands such as Koshihikari and Hitomebore.

  • Miso Soup

    Miso Soup

    Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup. It's base is "dashi" (Japanese fish stock) and Miso paste. Common added ingredients are Tofu, Green onion and deep‐fried tofu but differs by personal preference. The type of miso is different from region. In western and Easter Japan white miso is mostly used.

Cooking Class Information

In this cooking class, I will choose one Main and Side dishes and make them together with participants.
After 1 to 1.5 hours cooking, we have lunch together and you can ask anything unfamiliar and interesting.

Through my class, you will learn not only receipt but also our own food culture such as soysauce and dashi and our dietry daily life style.
