  • Ramen

    Ramen

Ramen is a noodle soup dish and perhaps one of the most popular Japanese dishes. There are many flavours of ramen, such as Shoyu (soy sauce) ramen, Miso ramen, Tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen and so on. Common toppings are Chashu (braised pork), Negi (green onion) and Nori (dried seaweed).

  • Tempura

    Tempura

Tempura (天ぷら) is a classical Portuguese dish brought to and popularized by Japan, consisting of seafood or vegetables that have been battered and deep fried. Tempura is a typical home-style cooking in Japan. It is often referred to as a representative dish to Japan. Although there are various theories, it is said that Tokugawa Ieyasu, the general of the Edo period, liked tempura so much that he allegedly died from eating too much.

  • Udon

    Udon

Udon (うどん) is a type of thick wheat flour noodle. It is similar to Italian pasta, but much thicker. It has been eaten all over Japan as an easy-to-eat popular meal, and a substitute meal for rice dishes. Udon is often served hot as a noodle soup in its simplest form, as "kake udon", in a mildly flavoured broth called kakejiru, which is made of dashi, soy sauce, and mirin. The flavor of broth and topping vary from region to region.

  • Takoyaki

    Takoyaki

Takoyaki is very cute, small battered balls containing octopus. When you visit Osaka, you can see Takoyaki shops and people wandering the streets while eating it.

  • Okonomiyaki

    Okonomiyaki

Okonomiyaki is a Japanese savory pancake, made with flour, eggs, shredded cabbage, meat and toppings as you like. This variability is reflected in the dish's name: "okonomi" literally means "to one's liking". You can eat it everywhere in Japan, but especially Okonomiyaki made Hiroshima style and Osaka style are the most famous.

If there are vegetables in the field, you can experience harvesting in the field.

Satoko and her family were very gracious. They greeted us at rail station and drove us to the house. Wonderful experience, enjoyed helping to make delicious lunch and ate together with family after picking some ingredients from their garden. Language barrier not a problem as Satoko spoke some English and we had google translation. She also allowed us to see through her adjoining family home which would make a lovely B&B some day. Would definitely recommend. Thankyou Satoko for a wonderful experience

Thank you for visiting our home. we enjoyed with you too. I would be happy if you could recook what I make in my kitchen . especially, the pork topping for ramen is good not only on ramen, but also on top of rice and topped with sauce! If you don't understand something, please ask me!

Satako and her family welcomed us to their beautiful home in the middle of paddy fields and the middle of paddy fields and hemmed by forest. Monkeys lurked in the trees. We toured her small holding, gardens, and vegetable patch and her house. We met her delightful father and children. She cooked us home grown rice and vegetables. They are sweet and highly intelligent, and we enjoyed our time enormously. Our 10 and 12-year-olds all played together and didn't want To leave. She should set up an Airbnb. You can easily hire a car from Hiroshima; it's an easy drive, just need to take the international license with you.Highly recommend this wonderful experience.

We are very happy that you are interested in our country life and enjoy the experience. It was a very good season when you visited us. Because spring is the season of budding, and you are interested in wild plants and vegetables. I am also grateful that you ate all the traditional Japanese foods. And the word you gave me "Your cuisine is so wondaful and delicious, and your children are growing up well, so you should have confidence.'' make me happy. Thank you!! we enjoyed the time with you.
