Menu
1. Making Onigiri
Have you ever made onigiri (rice balls)? It’s actually very simple, and anyone can make delicious ones! With just some filling, salt, cooked rice, and seaweed, you can easily shape them into triangular onigiri!
2. Tamagoyaki
Tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet) is very popular. You simply pour the egg mixture into a square frying pan and roll it up!
3. Takoyaki
Takoyaki, a famous dish from Osaka, can actually be enjoyed without going to Osaka! What’s more, you can make it yourself. You’ll feel like a Takoyaki chef!
4. Easy Tea Ceremony
Experience the Japanese tea ceremony! It might seem very complicated, but in my class, you can enjoy a simplified version right at the table. Would you like to use traditional tea ceremony tools to make your own matcha?
We'll start by making the dashi stock, then prepare the takoyaki batter. After that, we'll cut the octopus and cook the takoyaki in the takoyaki pan!
Let's bake the egg together.
Let's make triangle-shaped rice balls!
Experience Simple Table Tea Ceremony
Hello! I live in Hida Takayama, and I’m truly amazed at the growing number of international visitors coming here. I’m so happy you've traveled all the way to visit such a small town!
Hida Takayama has so much to offer, including the famous “Takayama Festival,” held every April to welcome spring and every October to celebrate the harvest season. You can also visit Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO World Heritage site, stroll through Takayama’s historic old town that feels like stepping back in time, and enjoy the changing seasons—sakura blossoms in spring and the beautiful reds and yellows of autumn leaves.
Each season has its unique beauty, and I'd love to help make your stay in Hida Takayama even more memorable. Why not join our cooking class? It’s a private lesson, so you’re welcome to bring your little ones along!
