Potato salad:
Japanese style potato salad using potato, carrot, cucumber/broccoli and sausages with mayonnaise.
Miso soup: miso soup is very common soup in Japan. It’s cooked with vegetables of the season, tofu and seaweed and then seasoned with miso, fermented soy bean paste.
Rice: organically grown white rice which came from our small rice field.
Rice is a staple food in Japan. In all most every family, there is a rice cooker. There is variety of Japanese rice brands such as Koshihikari and Hitomebore.
Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup. It's base is "dashi" (Japanese fish stock) and Miso paste. Common added ingredients are Tofu, Green onion and deep‐fried tofu but differs by personal preference. The type of miso is different from region. In western and Easter Japan white miso is mostly used.
Teriyaki chicken: we start from grill the chicken in the pan and then stir fry it with teriyaki sauce. You can learn how to make the sauce which can be used for fish or tofu.
Potato salad: we cut the vegetables together and cook it then season with mayonnaise. Simple and easy!
Miso soup: again, we cut the vegetables together and cook it then season with miso. Simple and easy!
Rice: I’ll show you how I prepare the rice and cook it in the pot as I usually do.

We are family with 3kids living in the countryside of Oita prefecture.
My husband and I love to travel and he traveled around the world 10 years ago. When we were traveling, we enjoyed communicating with local people very much, especially visiting local market and eating local food with them.
As we don’t have opportunities to travel these days we’d love to accept travelers to share our culture and show our daily life in the countryside.
