I will meet you at the station. I will give you a short tour through an old temple which was built more than 750 years ago.
It is a nice walk on a Japanese old street.
Then we walk on the old cobblestone towards the pagoda then to the main hall which is a national treasure.
When cherry blossom is blooming in March, it is a very special walk through the Sakura path.
When you see the pagoda and the main temple building, you are only a couple of minutes away to my kitchen.
My name is Kyoko.
I live in the suburb of Tokyo (25 minutes from Tokyo station and also from Akihabara ) It is a very nice area with big temple and big trees. I will meet you at the station and give you a short tour of my town through the nice old temple and old streets (*10 minutes walk)
I love cooking/eating all different kinds of food.
Also I enjoy inviting people to my place from all over the world to have meals together.
I lived in British Colombia, Canada for 4 years and while I was there, I started Japanese catering in the Rocky Mountains.
I was in the food and hospitality industry all my life (Canada and Japan ) and I love meeting new friends and share Japanese culture through cooking.
Let’s have fun cooking together.

★★★★★Wow! Such a great event! Kyoko gave us so much information and detail about Japanese ingredients , techniques, and style. Beyond the basics of Japanese cuisine, to understanding different ingredients and their uses. We learned so much. First off, Kyoko met us at the train station. Sounds minor but Japanese addresses are hard to navigate. This saved a lot of confusion. Then she toured us through a temple en route to her home. We felt so welcomed along with being able to experience a real home kitchen. Lots of hands on learning that was efficient and well organised. Feel like we made a good friend in addition to absorbing lots of info. Highly recommend as this is a class we will always remember. Best of 5 courses we tried in Japan!

★★★★★It was truly amazing and according to my son (and I can totally relate) the best Japan experience so far (and we've been here for the weeks). We learned to make Okonomiyaki and Gyoza from scratch all the while talking about German and Japanese food and culture. It really didn't feel like a cooking class- more like cooking with friends. Thank you Kyoko for inviting us into your home and being such a wonderful host. 次回会いましょう

★★★★★Our time spent cooking with Kyoko was wonderful. The short walk from the station to her home was a gorgeous trek through the temple and we had perfect timing for the cherry blossoms. Kyoko welcomed us into her home like family and we cooked so much delicious food. It was a wonderful, one of a kind hands on experience.
