Miso ramen & Gyoza
Miso ramen is a popular noodle dish with meat broth and different kinds of miso originally from Hokkaido. Now there are different types of miso ramen throughout Japan.
Gyoza is a Japanese dumpling made by wrapping meat, cabbage, leek, etc. in a skin made of thin flour. Homemade wrappers are the best!
In this class, we make the miso ramen broth using miso, pork( or chicken) garlic, ginger, sugar, chili bean paste.
Then boil noodle, bean sprouts, eggs. Also cut spring onion and corn for the toppings.
Also we make Gyoza to have with miso ramen as a typical Japanese meal.
You can buy the gyoza wrappers of course, but once you try my homemade wrappers you can’t go back to the store bought ones!
My name is Kyoko.
I live in suburb of Tokyo (25 minutes from Tokyo station and also from Akihabara ) It is a very nice area with temple and trees. ( I will meet you at the station and give you a short tour of my town through the nice old temple and old streets *10 minutes walk)
I love cooking/eating all different kinds of food.
I love inviting people to my place from all over the world to have meals together.
I lived in British Colombia, Canada for 4 years and while I was there, I started Japanese catering in the Rocky Mountains.
I was in the food and hospitality industry all my life (Canada and Japan ) and I love meeting new friends and share Japanese culture through cooking.
Let’s have fun cooking together.

★★★★★From the start when we were met by Kyoko for a short walk to her house through her beautiful village Kyoko was a brilliant host . The class was friendly, easy and very informative. She gave us a bonus Sake tasting and lesson which went very well with the Gyozas we made . We also learnt all the best tips and tricks for making simple tasty Ramen which will now be a staple in our house back in Perth . Kyoko’s excellent command of the English language helped make this a fun addition to our trip . Thank you Kyoko we will be recommending you to any of our friends visiting Japan .

★★★★★Our cooking experience with Kyoko was lovely! Started with a short walk through town leading up to a beautiful shrine. At Kyoko’s home we made homemade wrappers and filling for gyozas with her guide and help. We learned how to make a miso ramen broth and had a great time eating it straight away. It was a really nice experience to learn from a local cook who really likes to share her knowledge.
