Onigiri is soul food for Japanese people. Let's make onigiri with freshly cooked rice in a clay pot! The rice is made in-house with reduced pesticides. Please enjoy safe, secure and delicious rice.

〇 Tamagoyaki
Tamagoyaki is a standard Japanese side dish that is often eaten for breakfast or in a lunch box. Let's try frying rolled omelet in a square egg pan.

〇 Japanese Pickles
Homemade pickles made with seasonal vegetables.

〇 Miso soup
In my house, we eat miso soup for breakfast every morning. We simmer seasonal vegetables, tofu and wakame seaweed, and dissolve miso at the end. We use homemade miso. It is a Japanese fermented food.

    Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup. It's base is "dashi" (Japanese fish stock) and Miso paste. Common added ingredients are Tofu, Green onion and deep‐fried tofu but differs by personal preference. The type of miso is different from region. In western and Easter Japan white miso is mostly used.

In this cooking class, you will make onigiri together in a rice farmer's home kitchen!

You will cook delicious rice using home-grown rice grown with reduced pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
While the rice is cooking, you will grill
salmon and prepare several types of onigiri fillings.
You will also cut and simmer the vegetables for miso soup to complete the soup.
You will beat eggs and make tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet).

Once the rice is cooked, let's make onigiri together! We will also prepare delicious Japanese nori seaweed.
Onigiri made with freshly cooked rice is delicious!

Hello. I am Chieko. My job is a rice farmer in Kurashiki. We produce rice with reduced pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Let's make home cooking together using delicious Japanese rice. The menu can accommodate hand-rolled sushi, rice balls, miso soup, tempura, and many other things. At our own factory, we make handmade rice cakes. Rice cake dishes are also possible. I myself learned Italian home cooking at Mamma's home when I traveled to Italy, and I have very fulfilling memories. Please enjoy Japanese soul food.
