・Oyakodon
・Miso soup
Oyakodon is a popular Japanese dish that translates to "parent and child bowl." It is a comforting rice bowl that features chicken (the "parent") and egg (the "child") as its main ingredients, hence the name.
Oyakodon is a beloved dish in Japan, known for its simplicity and comfort. It's commonly served in homes, restaurants, and is especially popular as a quick and satisfying meal. The dish beautifully represents the balance of flavors and textures in Japanese cuisine.
I'm sure many of you are already familiar with miso soup, but in this class, we will be making it from scratch by starting with the preparation of dashi (Japanese soup stock). Once you've mastered the art of making dashi, you'll be able to use it not only in miso soup but in a wide variety of Japanese dishes. And yes, it will also be used in Oyakodon!
