Ramen is a dish that is loved not only in Japan, but all over the world.

The standard is soy sauce ramen. It has a soy sauce-based soup and a light taste.
The soup is made with a strong dashi stock and has a deep flavor.

The toppings are green onions, eggs, bamboo shoots, and char siu.

・Traditional Japanese curry
Japanese curry has its own unique style that is different from Indian curry.

It is characterized by a thick finish using roux, and has a sweet and rich taste. Generally, pork, chicken, or beef is used. And vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, and onions are used.

Curry is served on top of rice. Japanese curry is widely loved by children and adults alike. Recipes and styles vary depending on the household and region, and one of the attractions is that each family has their own special curry.

    Ramen is a noodle soup dish and perhaps one of the most popular Japanese dishes. There are many flavours of ramen, such as Shoyu (soy sauce) ramen, Miso ramen, Tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen and so on. Common toppings are Chashu (braised pork), Negi (green onion) and Nori (dried seaweed).

    Rice is a staple food in Japan. In all most every family, there is a rice cooker. There is variety of Japanese rice brands such as Koshihikari and Hitomebore.

Cooking Class Information

・Making curry
①Prepare the ingredients
Cut the onion, and cut the potatoes and carrots into bite-sized pieces. Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces.

②Stir-fry the ingredients
Heat the oil and fry the onion until it becomes transparent.
Stir-fry the meat and other vegetables as well.

③Add water
Add water to the pot. Simmer for a while.

④Add curry roux
Turn off the heat and add the curry roux.

⑤Serve
Put the rice on a plate and pour the curry on top to finish.

*The staff will cut ingredients and do the preparation. You will be the one to experience the important parts.
