It is considered an auspicious item that wishes for "increased wisdom" due to its gorgeous appearance and shape resembling a scroll like a book. It is made with thinly sliced carrots and radishes, inspired by red and white pickled vegetables and red and white mizuhiki, and is considered an auspicious item that wishes for peace in the family. Ozoni Ozoni comes from the fact that rice cakes and other items offered to the New Year God (Toshigami-sama) are boiled and eaten during annual events, and it means receiving the blessings of the New Year God.
