About Host

MAIKO

Hello. Welcome to Japan.
I am an organic farmer.
I grow vegetables and soybeans for my own consumption.
I brew miso and soy sauce from the soybeans I harvest.

My homemade miso and soy sauce are very delicious. If you come to my cooking class, please try them! If you wish, I can also teach you how to make miso. We use organic ingredients for the rice, vegetables, and seasonings in our meals, so we try to use organic ingredients as much as possible in our cooking classes.

I hope you enjoy your stay in Japan and Japanese cuisine.

I travel abroad about twice a year.
When I say travel, I like to travel as if I am living in that country or region.
I meet people there, stay there to get used to their lifestyle and culture, and learn about the cuisine of that country or region.
Then, I will buy some of my favorite seasonings as souvenirs and return to Japan, where I will cook the dishes I learned to make for my family and eat them together.
In this way, my travels to foreign countries will live on in my mind as experiences of culture and life, not just sightseeing trips.

I would be happy if we could create good memories together as fun and delicious experiences in Japan through Japanese culture, food, and exchange.
