In this class, participants will experience the traditional hand-picking of Japanese tea in the Okuyamato region of Nara.
First, tea farmer Tsuguto will explain about Japanese tea in the actual tea field, then we will harvest tea by hand in bamboo baskets.
Afterwards, we will move to a tea room in an old private house to cook freshly picked tea into green tea and hojicha (roasted green tea), which will be tasted.
At the end of the tour, participants will be able to take home the finished tea as a souvenir.
