【Tempura】
Tempura is a popular Japanese dish of fried seafood and vegetables.
I use rice flour for the batter, which is gluten-free, and fry it in rice oil.
This makes the tempura light, crispy, and healthy.
You can enjoy it with salt or a soy-based dipping sauce.
【Tonjiru-Pork Soup】
Tonjiru is a Japanese miso soup with pork and vegetables.
It is made with a flavorful dashi broth, which gives it a rich and savory taste.
We use thin slices of pork and a variety of seasonal vegetables such as carrot, daikon radish, burdock root, and konnyaku. Sometimes we also add tofu and green onions.
All the ingredients are simmered in the miso-flavored dashi, creating a hearty, warm, and healthy soup.
※It can also be made vegetarian if you skip the pork.
【Rice】
I use rice grown by my close friend, which is low-pesticide and very fresh.
You can choose either white rice or brown rice.
This rice is soft, flavorful, and perfect to enjoy with our Japanese dishes.
I hope you enjoy the taste and quality of this special rice!

Masae
Hello, my name is Masae Ishii. I live in Tokyo with my husband and two children, and I work for a real estate company. I was born and raised in Tokyo, but I also had the wonderful opportunity to live in California, which gave me a broader perspective on culture and food. I enjoy cooking traditional Japanese home-style dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients. For me, cooking is about sharing warmth and happiness through food. I live near Gotokuji Temple, a charming area known for its “lucky cat,” and if time allows, I’d be happy to show guests around. Through AirKitchen, I hope to share the joy of Japanese home cooking and everyday life with visitors from around the world.
