Meet in Morioka, hop in the car, and hit a local supermarket safari.
We’ll pick cabbage, meat, or tofu–shiitake for a veggie option, plus fun sauces and snacks.
Back at my cozy home kitchen: mix, pleat, and pan-fry until the bottoms are super crispy and the tops fluffy.
Small group, chill vibe, English friendly. Kids welcome!
Break time bonus: play Nintendo Switch while the dough rests or after we eat.
You’ll take home an easy recipe and gyoza-folding hacks.
(Seat belts in the car, please. Tell me about allergies in advance.)

About Host

Kai

Hello! I’m Kai, born in Miyako on the Sanriku coast and now living in Morioka.
I started hosting on airKitchen so travelers can enjoy the everyday flavors I grew up with—fresh seafood from Miyako and seasonal vegetables from Iwate—cooked in a relaxed, home style you can repeat easily.

Classes take place in my clean, cozy home kitchen in Morioka (easy access, small groups). I speak English, welcome families, and can adjust the menu for vegetarian or other needs—please let me know in advance.

My goal is for you to leave with new skills, a full stomach, and a warm connection to Iwate’s food culture. Let’s cook together, enjoy everything straight from the pan, and I’ll share local tips for cafés, markets, and scenic spots around Morioka. Welcome!
