Nagoya Soul Food

●Miso Yaki-Udon (Miso Stir-Fried Noodles)
Thick, chewy udon noodles stir-fried with meat and vegetables in a rich, savory Nagoya red miso sauce. Hearty and full of local flavor!

●Tama-sen (Shrimp Cracker Sandwich)
A popular Nagoya street snack! A fried egg with savory sauce and mayo, sandwiched crispy shrimp crackers.

  • Udon

    Udon

Udon (うどん) is a type of thick wheat flour noodle. It is similar to Italian pasta, but much thicker. It has been eaten all over Japan as an easy-to-eat popular meal, and a substitute meal for rice dishes. Udon is often served hot as a noodle soup in its simplest form, as "kake udon", in a mildly flavoured broth called kakejiru, which is made of dashi, soy sauce, and mirin. The flavor of broth and topping vary from region to region.

### What We Will Do

This is not a commercial studio or a restaurant. I welcome you into a real Japanese home kitchen to experience genuine daily life and local flavors!

Together, we will cook Nagoya's favorite comfort foods:

* Miso Yaki-Udon: Stir-fried udon noodles with a rich, savory red miso sauce.
* Tamasen: A popular Nagoya street food snack made with shrimp crackers, fried egg, and sauce.

I will guide you step-by-step in a warm, cozy atmosphere—just like cooking with a local friend. After cooking, we’ll enjoy the meal together!

### Why Choose This Experience?

* Real Home Kitchen: See how a Japanese family actually lives and cooks.
* Authentic Local Flavors: Taste real Nagoya comfort food and street snacks at a local home.
* Perfect Location for Sightseeing: My home is located close to Arimatsu, a beautiful historic district famous for its traditional streetscapes and Arimatsu Shibori (tie-dyeing). It is the perfect stop to combine with your day trip!
