Let's cook bento with a local mom in Fukuoka!

Let's cook iconic Japanese dishes like tamagoyaki (rolled omelet) and onigiri (rice balls) that you always see in anime! On sunny days, we can even take them to a nearby park with a beautiful ocean view and enjoy them there.

If it rains, let's play with some Japanese toys at home! We have Kendama(traditional cup-and-ball game), card games, and a Nintendo Switch ready for you.

    Onigiri

    Onigiri is a Japanese comfort food made from steamed rice formed into the typical triangular, ball, or cylinder shapes and usually wrapped with nori(dried seaweed). Stuffed with a a variety of fillings and flavors, these rice balls make an ideal quick snack and are a fun alternative to sandwitches for lunch.

    Rice is a staple food in Japan. In all most every family, there is a rice cooker. There is variety of Japanese rice brands such as Koshihikari and Hitomebore.

In this class, we make bento lunchbox.

◆Tamagoyaki
A Japanese-style omelet made by rolling together thin layers of fried egg. It has a slightly sweet and savory flavor.

◆Teriyaki chicken
Juicy pan-fried chicken glazed with a sweet and savory soy sauce blend (Teriyaki sauce).
※Vegetarian options are available: Teriyaki chicken can be replaced with fish or tofu.

◆Onigiri (Rice balls)
Steamed rice shaped into triangles or balls, often wrapped in nori (seaweed) and filled with savory ingredients.

◆Seasonal Japanese pickles (such as cucumber or Napa cabbage)
Traditional Japanese pickles made from fresh seasonal vegetables like cucumber or Napa cabbage. They are crunchy and refreshing.

I live in Fukuoka, a wonderful city blessed with beautiful nature and amazing food. At home, I’m also a mother of two, raising an 8-year-old and a 6-year-old.

In this class, I want to share plenty of tips to make everyday cooking more fun, along with simple and delicious recipes you can easily recreate at home.
