Japanese Home Cooking Experience
Enjoy making a traditional Japanese home-style meal together in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
We will start by making tamagoyaki, a Japanese rolled omelet, using a traditional rectangular Japanese omelet pan. You will learn how to roll the egg step by step to make a soft and fluffy omelet with a slightly sweet flavor and the savory taste of dashi.
Next, we will make miso soup from dashi. You will prepare ingredients such as tofu and green onions and learn how to make simple, authentic Japanese miso soup.
For onigiri (rice balls), you can choose two fillings from several options and make two rice balls by yourself. You will learn how to shape them into the traditional triangle shape.
For the main dish, please let me know your preference after booking. You can choose either grilled salmon or teriyaki chicken, which I will prepare for you.
Two Japanese side dishes will also be served. Kinpira gobo is made by stir-frying thinly sliced burdock root and carrot and seasoning them with a sweet and savory soy-based sauce. You will also enjoy seasonal Japanese pickles. Have fun arranging the side dishes in small Japanese bowls and completing your own Japanese-style meal.
After the meal, enjoy a casual matcha experience. Using traditional matcha utensils, you will whisk your own bowl of matcha. No formal tea ceremony experience is needed—just relax and enjoy!
Enjoy your matcha with a seasonal Japanese sweet, such as matcha pudding or Japanese dango.
Hello! My name is Tomoko. I raised three children with homemade meals every day, and I’ve been studying English for over ten years. Two years ago I joined a short study program abroad, which made me realize once again how beautiful and delicious Japanese food is. That inspired me to start sharing it with people from around the world.
My home is in Kitahiroshima, a quiet residential area near Sapporo. Here, you can enjoy cooking and create unforgettable memories in a warm, homely atmosphere. During the gardening season, you can also enjoy the flowers in my garden.
I truly love welcoming guests and sharing Japanese culture through food.
I’m looking forward to meeting you soon!
