Temari-zushi (colorful ball-shaped sushi with seasonal vegetables, nuts and tofu), with vegan miso soup.
This class takes place at my house. I will dress you up in kimono (traditional clothing). I have various props, such as samurai swords, elegant fans and colorful lacquered umbrellas, to transform the ladies into geisha and the gentlemen into samurai! You can take a lot of photos of yourself in the front garden and inside the house. I will show you some good poses. After photo time, we will move on to cooking. We will make sushi rice and prepare some ingredients like tofu, nuts and vegetables for the decoration of vegan sushi. I will show you how to decorate the sushi and you will make your own sushi dish. Putting on traditional kimono and cooking sushi is going to be your special experience in Japan!
Hi! I’m Manami. I love cooking and meeting people. My husband is British and a lot of his family members are vegetarian or vegan, so I have been making vegetarian and vegan Japanese cuisine for them for many years and they love it. I know there are only a few vegetarian and vegan options in Japan, but I would like you to enjoy Japanese food culture.
