  • Green Tea

    Green Tea

The astringent constituent in Japanese tea is a type of polyphenol called catechin. Japan has done a great deal with the humble tea leaf. For example some benefits of the catechin in the tea leaf can lower cholesterol in some cases. Roasted over charcoal at a high temperature and grown under shade for at least 20 days are one of the examples. The most popular Japanese tea might be ryokucha. Depending on the timing of picking the leaves, the grade, the price can be noticeably different.

Cooking Class Information

You and we will cook Japanese dishes together which we often cook and enjoy in our daily life. They will be different from what you can enjoy in restaurants or izakayas but we believe you will have a special local experience at our place.

Before the cooking class we can take you to a local vegetable store to buy ingredients.

Please feel free to give us a contact should there be any specific requests.

My husband and I are in 30s. Both of us were born and grew up in Japan. We got married in 2014 and worked in Singapore for years. We’ve traveled over 20 countries together as well as innumerable weekend trips in Japan.

We both love cooking (not a professional chef though) and we participated in various cooking classes in many countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, South Africa, Hong Kong, France, etc. and of course in Japan.

What we love: traveling, cooking&eating, coffee&tea, wine&beer, soccer, yoga, running, outdoor activities etc

I can’t recommend this cooking class enough. Our cooking class consisted of 4 different dishes that we chose. Nozomi and Kazuto were extremely friendly and personally picked us up and brought us to their home to cook. They did a good job highlighting traditional Japanese home-cooking for us and even gave us a little goody-bag at the end of the cooking session. I know that next time I’m in Tokyo I will be getting another lesson from them. Person A: “This was dope!!” Person B: “Great food, friendly people, and they gave us the recipes we used so we can make it again on our own! Thank you for sharing your home and food with us!”
