"In Japan, it can be hard to find gluten-free dishes, let alone gluten-free bread.
However, in my class we will bake a small loaf of bread using Japanese rice flour. It is both gluten-free and vegan! With this dough, we can make a variety of different dishes, such as sandwiches, pizza buns, pancakes, bagels, and more! To accompany the bread, we will also make a salad and soup. You can check out the photos to see what different kinds of bread dishes we can make together. Please try this delicious and easy to bake bread!
Unfortunately, Japan has a long way to go when it comes to being gluten-free-friendly. Despite its rice-heavy reputation, you’ll find wheat in many widely-used ingredients, like soy sauce and some vinegars. Finding gluten-free bread, let alone vegan gluten-free bread, is an enormous challenge. In contrast to many other countries, most breads contain wheat and egg or dairy products in Japan. However, you can relax in my cooking class and know that the bread is both vegan and gluten-free! I'll teach you how to bake bread using gluten-free rice flour, a traditional Japanese ingredient that makes the perfect gluten-free substitute.
I specialize in gluten-free cooking, and use rice flour instead of wheat in my cooking. I am happy to accommodate vegans and vegetarians. Let me know if there's any type of bread dish you want to make in particular and we can bake it together."
