    Tempura (天ぷら) is a classical Portuguese dish brought to and popularized by Japan, consisting of seafood or vegetables that have been battered and deep fried. Tempura is a typical home cooking in Japan. It is often mentioned as a representative dish in Japan. Although there are various theories but, Tokugawa Ieyasu, the general of the Edo period, liked tempura and died of eating too much.

  • Miso Soup

    Miso Soup

    Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup. Soup is made from dashi (Japanese stock) and Miso paste. Common ingredients are Tofu, Green onion and deep‐fried tofu but different from personal preference. Using the type of miso is different from region. In western Japan, white miso is mostly used. in east region, White miso is often used.

We operate a lodging business in Miyama, Kyoto. Guests can choose from four types of thatched cottages to stay.
Miyama where I am living in now is a beautiful place. The region is surrounded by the mountains. There is the clean river where you can swim in the summer. There is no distraction like a big city in Japan. Instead, you can hear frogs singing, trees rustling etc.Moreover, the people here are more connected with each other compared to cities. Come and experience the real community in the nature of Kyoto.
