・Muuchi
Muuchi is an Okinawan traditional steamed rice cake wrapped with shell ginger leaves.
We make brown sugar and purple sweet potato flavored Muuchi .(Each family has a different taste)
Okinawan kids eat it with a wish for their health and eat the same number of it as their age.

・Mozuku seaweed crepe
Mozuku seaweed crepe is mozuku seaweed and shrimp mixed with batter from flour and cooked on frying pan.
This is a little snack in Okinawa.

・Sata andagi
Sata andagi is Okinawan sweet deep-fried bun like a doughnut.
Ingredients include flour, eggs and sugar for its dough.
Take in much calories because we need a lot of energy for cooking! haha

・Agarasa
Agarasa is brown sugar steamed bread.
Ingredients include flour, eggs, honey, brown sugar and milk.
This is very simple Okinawan sweets and mild taste.

    Rice

    Rice is a staple food in Japan. In all most every family, there is a rice cooker. There is variety of Japanese rice brands such as Koshihikari and Hitomebore.

Cooking Class Information

In this class, we can make Okinawan traditional sweets together!

We'll start by harvesting shell ginger leaves.

Step1. Make agarasa.
-Mix flour, eggs and brown sugar to make its batter.
-Put them into a mold and steam.

Step2. Make muuchi.
-Mix muuchi flour,purple sweet potato paste and brown sugar to make its dough.
-Knead and roll the dough into a ball.
-Wrap it with shell ginger leaves and steam.

Step3. While those are cooking, we start to make Sata andagi.
-Mix flour, eggs and sugar to make its dough.
-Roll one spoon of the dough into a ball and fry it.

Step4. Let's make Mozuku seaweed crepe.
-Mix flour, eggs and broth from dried bonito shavings.
-Put mozuku seaweed and shrimp in it.
-Spread it over the frying pan.

Step5. Dish up and dig in!
