Fish Amok is the very popular Cambodian dish. It consists of fish (usually cat fish) cooked in mixed Khmer spices, coconut milk and Noni leaves. The rich texture and rich taste of the dish is well like by locals and tourists.
The fish Amok is usually eat with warm steamed jasmine rice.
To cook our popular Fish Amok, we start by visiting our local market to search for the fresh ingredients. Our chef will show you the ingredients and explain each one in detail for you. The trick of making good fish Amok is to make a good mixed Khmer spices: lemongrass, turmeric, Kaffir lime leaves, galangal and a few other items.
The Noni leaves is also a main part of Fish Amok. You will taste your food after the cooking class.
Sereymony
Our Khmer cooking class is available 2 times a day, the morning start at 9am and the after noon start at 4pm. We provide hand on experience and lesson to you base on your preference dishes. You also have a chance to visit the local market with our chef, where he can show you the fresh ingredients for your courses. From ingredients to mixed spices (Kroeung) and to Amok, our chef will explain step-by-step process to cook your favorite wonderful Cambodian dishes at home.
