The Traditional Kitchen is the ancient Sri Lankan home kitchen which I wanted to give the original experience of old fashioned kitchen which still are functioning in villages inside the Country. Before the millennium every Sri Lankan house, there was this kitchen which made by Clay & Dung mixture. Also Coconut wings for the roof. Weaving Coconut wings also is an art. You will be able to learn how to remove the Coconut Husks and Coconut grating too. You will get to know all these in here with me.
You will receive a recipe book with twenty plus recipes in it, written by myself. First you will get a brief lesson of what you are going to learn and to cook. Normally you will get to learn and cook red rice, white rice, Meat Curry, Seafood Curry, two Vegetable Curries which you picked from Organic Farm, Red Lentil Curry and Poppadum. We will use fire woods to cook the rice and meat curry. Then move to the art of cookery. You can choose your own decision regarding which to cook first. The recipebook will guide you to prepare each curry with my guidance. You will be the cook here onwards and during this time period you will hear the tips of the cooking art. If there is a group of people, each and every one can participate with the arts of cooking.
Cooking is an art which Grand Ma, who gave me the first hand to my Cookery, teaching me how to make a “Coconut Sambol” when I was in the age of 11 years. She gave me all the secrets and the tips of the trade by heart, “Taste of the meal will depend on half & half of your Love & the Goods for the meal”. While joining the trade of Hospitality, I wanted to join to the Kitchen Team. But Mr. Ranjan Peris, my first General Manger told me to join the F&B Team because of my communication skills.
I started my career as a Food & Beverage Trainee Steward in year 1999. I graduated from Ceylon Hotel School in 2004, Intermediate level for Food & Beverage. I worked in Food & Beverage Department for Two decades and reached to the position of F&B Manager.
