In this online experience, together we will prepare the best Moroccan square pancakes "Msemen". We usually serve these pancakes for breakfast or just to enjoy it with tea or coffee in the late afternoon with a side of butter and honey, with a crispy outside and chewy inside, these pancakes has the perfect texture combination. practice is required to get the right texture of the dough, so give it a try.. because the result is to die for!
And for sure that we can't talk about eating "Msemen" without a delicious minted tea! so during our experience we will also make a real Moroccan tea step by step.
We will start our experience by mixing our dough, shape it into small balls then a thick cylinders, after that we will flatten them into a a very thin circles, Sprinkle over the dough circles some semolina and some melted butter, then start folding the sides of each one to have a square.. After preheat a very lightly oiled cast iron skillet over medium heat we will be ready to cook our Msemen until it has a nice golden brown color.
At the end of our experience, we will all enjoy a very nice crispy "Msemen" with soften butter and honey and the delicious Moroccan mint Tea that we will prepare together :)
