Nice to meet you♡
My name is Yuko.
Since my son was a junior high school student, I taught international students how to cook as a host family, and in 2007 I started holding cooking classes at my home.
The international students who came to our home,
Since I started giving priority to Japanese-style dashi, which is the basics of Kyoto cuisine, I have been teaching lessons based on cooking using dashi.
I would like everyone to learn about Japanese home cooking and the wonderful culture of Japan.
It is also called "Onigiri" .(japaneserice ball)
It is excellent in preservation and portability, and has long been used in Japan as an event and lunch box.
The materials are famous for ume,Grilled salmon , bonito and tuna mayo.
As an arrangement, it is a Japanese soul food that can be enjoyed together with various ingredients such as meat-rolled rice balls and spam rice balls.
You feel the four seasons of Kyoto with the condition of pickles and miso soup for each season.

I was born and grew up in Kyoto.
I would like you to taste the taste of vegetables and rice which are harvested in this place.
I believe that Japanese food should be casual and daily food. So I want to cook with the japanese dish whichi is focused on the taste od the material itself, harvested for local cconsumption and healthy for your body.

★★★★★The hosts were very kind and the onigiri experience was very enjoyable to make. It takes some skill to make triangular onigiri, but the ones I made by myself were exceptional. Even though the ingredients of onigiri are familiar to Japanese people, I think they all look new to people from overseas. This is a highly recommended experience to learn about Japanese food culture.

★★★★★This review is from Lei & Ellie. We were warmly welcomed by Yuko into her home. She made us feel comfortable and taught us the skill of making Onigiri with our hands and with utensils. Steps were easy to follow. We also got to enjoy her home made Miso soup. The best I've ever had! Yuko is a wonderful teacher and we thoroughly enjoyed our time.

★★★★★Ellie and I really enjoyed our time with Yuko. She taught us the traditional and easy way these are prepared. There were a good choice of fillings to use. We were also fortunate to be servsome of Yuko's delicious home made Miso soup. It was the best I've tasted and wished mine was as delicious. We were warmly welcomed by Yuko and felt very comfortable bringing her home. Arigato gozaimasu

★★★★★Yuko is a great host. She showed me how to make miso soup and different kinds of onigiri. She was very well-prepared and she had even considered my dietary restrictions (no meat) and my personal preferences, so we made my favorite onigiri. She also gave me a lot of tips on specific products and where to buy them. Yuko is very nice and a good teacher, I had a really great time with her onigiri workshop!
