★★★★★Sumie is a great host! we came for a cooking class and we got much more. The atmosphere was great, getting out of the city and enjoying the serenity of the mountains. We learned about koji ( fermented rice . ) and we enjoyed tasting different spreads and sauces that Sumie prepared ahead of time. We were looking to experience traditional Japanese cuisine and we got it!! Thank you Sumie

★★★★★We had an amazing class and food at Sumi San's house. She cooked homey and hearty lunch, using mainly koji based seasonings and let the natural taste of her carefully chosen and prepared ingredients shine. Japanese fermentation (hakkou) is wonderfully umami and it's getting better known worldwide. Sumi San is delightful and kind. Her husband and daughter are also very nice. We also love their chiba inu Sora. I highly recommend this class. If you are driving, please ask Sumi San to send her address in Japanese for Google Maps.
