•Vegan Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki
Do you want to try Osaka foods for vegan? I will show you some recommended options for meat or octopus substitutions. YIt’s so fun to cook them!

  • Ramen

    Ramen

Ramen is a noodle soup dish and perhaps one of the most popular Japanese dishes. There are many flavours of ramen, such as Shoyu (soy sauce) ramen, Miso ramen, Tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen and so on. Common toppings are Chashu (braised pork), Negi (green onion) and Nori (dried seaweed).

  • Inari Sushi

    Inari Sushi

Inarizushi is stuffed in seasoned Aburaage tofu pouch. Inarizushi is technically sushi, but it is not something you order at nice sushi restaurants. It is easily found at supermarket delis, but, as you know, home made is the best. Inarisushi is a very casual food and a perfect lunch for picnics because it’s best eaten right from your hands.

  • Takoyaki

    Takoyaki

Takoyaki is very cute, small battered balls containing octopus. When you visit Osaka, you can see Takoyaki shops and people wandering the streets while eating it.

  • Okonomiyaki

    Okonomiyaki

Okonomiyaki is a Japanese savory pancake, made with flour, eggs, shredded cabbage, meat and toppings as you like. This variability is reflected in the dish's name: "okonomi" literally means "to one's liking". You can eat it everywhere in Japan, but especially Okonomiyaki made Hiroshima style and Osaka style are the most famous.

  • Rice

    Rice

Rice is a staple food in Japan. In all most every family, there is a rice cooker. There is variety of Japanese rice brands such as Koshihikari and Hitomebore.

  • Miso Soup

    Miso Soup

Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup. It's base is "dashi" (Japanese fish stock) and Miso paste. Common added ingredients are Tofu, Green onion and deep‐fried tofu but differs by personal preference. The type of miso is different from region. In western and Easter Japan white miso is mostly used.

Hi there! I'm Miki.
I'm currently running a little shop where people can get organic bulk food and local products. The area is very peaceful, there are a big park and green rice fields. No big buildings and night spots though!
Not only a shop owner but I'm also a yoga instructor. I always make a vegan plate for my guests in yoga class. It's really my pleasure. If you are interested in Japanese vegan cuisine, you must enjoy my place.
