Tempura is a very popular and well-known Japanese dish. The unique feature of Tempura is its light crispy texture and dipping sauce based on soy sauce and soup stock. Tempura is often garnished with grated Daikon ( Japanese radish ) and ginger. Daikon is said to help the digestion. Tempura uses a variety of vegetables, so it's not only delicious but also healthy.
In this class we make Tempura and Kakiage Tempura using seafood and seasonal vegetables as ingredients.
For vegetarians and vegans we can use only vegetables as ingredients.
Don't hesitate to tell me if there is anything you don't like or you are allergic to.
This class takes place in my kitchen and dining room so you can relax and enjoy cooking with homelike atmosphere.
You will be able to make it at home after you get back to your country.

It takes 30 minutes from Shinjyuku station to the closest station and it is 7minute's walk to my place. Being a housewife for more than 30 years, I can offer you homemade food which Japanese people cook and eat every day. I hope you can experience Japanese lifestyle through cooking at my house. I can also learn your countries and culture through cooking and talking with you from around the world. I'm really looking forward to seeing you.

★★★★★We had the best time at Yoshie's home cooking delicious tempura with some side dishes and making matcha jelly that was served with red bean paste and ice cream. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we learned a lot about Japanese cooking and also Japanese culture and way of living. We also got to tell Yoshie about our Swedish culture and traditions. Yoshie was a great teacher and made the cooking easy and understandable. It was the perfect amount of her showing how it should be done and us trying for ourselves. We also got to keep the recipies so that we'll be able to make tempura and matcha jelly back home. There was a very generous amount of food even for a hungry couple like ourselves and we feel like we have had our money's worth many times over. We also got to stay a long time so we never felt stressed and we had very interesting conversations while eating the food we had prepared. If you are interested in cooking and Japanese way of life, this is a must do!
