Inle's lake brown bean soup
We boil the brown beans about 30 min in a medium heat. Pound garlic, ginger with a bit of salt. cut coriander into small pieces. when the beans get soft, we will mash them and boil a few mins and add pounded garlic, ginger. and then boil until garlic are cooked and add chopped coriander. it is very sample soup but you will love to have it every time you cook.

Kim Paung Kaw ( tempura)
First, we will clean spring onions and cut all the roots off. Chop them small, cut ripe tomatoes into slice, pound garlic and ginger. Put them all into a bowl and mix with a teaspoon of salt,chicken powder, turmeric and rice flour. Mix them well and them all some water, so it will become a paste. Heat the pan, add peanut oil. when the oil get hot enough we will deep fired until they get golden brown color.
we will make some sauce which will go with tempura. pound garlic and chili with a little salt, put them into a sauce cup, add water with some lime juice. its very special dishes in my areas.

Tomato salad
We will cut tomatoes into slice,pound roast peanut and cut one onion into small rings. Add tomatoes, onion altogether in to a bowl and add peanut powder, salt to taste with a bit of green chili and mix well . we will seasoning with some garlic crispy oil on top and we will serve with white-rice crackers.

Eggplant salad
We will bake the eggplant with charcoal to get the smoky smell which will make you enjoy the most. First, cut one onion into slice, skin off baked eggplant and pick a few leave of lime-basil and mix them altogether in a bowl and add a teaspoon of peanut oil and salt to taste. Serve with tofu crackers.

Steamed fish Wrapped banana leaf
We will use fish fillet to make sure no bone in it. Cut the fish-fillet into medium size and marinate with slice of lime and salt. Cut spring onion, lemongrass into small pieces, pound garlic and ginger. And then we will mix all the ingredients with marinate fish, add sweet soy sauce,salt to taste and wrap the fish with banana leave.We will steam about 25-30 mins in a medium heat. serve with white rice.

Shan noodle
First, we will boil the water with some bone from the chicken with some lemon grass. we will cook chicken gravy with chopped tomatoes , onion slice ,garlic,
ginger,salt and fish sauce. Chop coriander, roast sesame seeds,fried chili,lime slices,boil muster leaves. when the soup is ready we will boil sticky rice noodles and serve together with others ingredients.
everyone loves this Shan noodle in Myanmar.

Cooking Class Information

In this hands on cooking class, you will cook about 5 dishes and you will learn about Myanmar foods, especially from Shan State and Inle lake. Preparation time will take about 2:30 - 3 hrs and we will sit together and eat the foods about 1 hr. So about half day will be enough including transportation from your hotel to my cooking class place. I will buy all ingredients advance, prepares and explain about each ingredients.

My name is Myo Min Tun,Please call me Min and I am from Myanmar(Burma). I used to help a lots to my mum when she cook for the whole families as we are a big family in Inle lake,Shan State.
