Discover the fascinating world of Pisco through our exciting Cusco Pisco Tasting classes. Immerse yourself in the history, characteristics, and production process of this iconic Peruvian spirit while enjoying the best culinary experience.
More than just a Pisco tasting, this is a journey into the realm of Peru's national liquor with different Pisco varieties to try and cocktails to learn to make individually with our friendly bartender. At Marcelo Batata Cooking Class we utilize only the best Pisco varieties available from the Cuatro Gallos vineyard located in the Ica Valley of Peru. We will provide the opportunity to enjoy various bite sized appetizers from our restaurants (UCHU Peruvian Steakhouse and Marcelo Batata) during this course and will learn to accompany our fantastic drinks with classic Peruvian dishes that you can then enjoy during the rest of your meals throughout your trip.
Step 1: The Beginning
Our bar specialist will provide a basic introduction on Peruvian grapes, pisco and its different varieties allowing us to delve into the world of Peru's National Liquor.
Step 2: All Pisco’d Up
We will begin our tasting with a non-aromatic pisco variety (Quebranta) and will continue with an aromatic pisco grape (Italia), continuing on with an Acholado Pisco and finally coming to a close with a delicate Mosto Verde. We will also teach how to properly taste Pisco and how to pair these pure liquors with classic Peruvian dishes.
Step 3: Cocktails with Pisco
Our specialist will provide a range of recipes from which you will choose one to prepare. The options provided will be to make either a Pisco Sour or a Classic Chilcano.
