Cooking Dal Bhat (Option -1)
Join our self-sustaining program, “Nepali Cooking for a Cause,” where we delve into the delightful world of Nepali cuisine, with a focus on the beloved Dal Bhat Tarkari. This traditional meal holds significant importance, serving as both a hearty breakfast and a satisfying dinner.
Dal Bhat Tarkari consists of fragrant white rice (Bhat) paired with nutritious lentils (dal), typically prepared using red lentils, though yellow and brown lentils are equally delightful. The main ensemble is complemented by a flavorful vegetable curry (Tarkari), a tangy mixture of tomato and coriander or hemp seed (chutney), and a side of nourishing spinach (saag).
