Kaori
I have 40 years of cooking experience, and I especially enjoy making Japanese home-style dishes and bento (Japanese lunch boxes).
Alongside my cooking classes, I work as a coordinator for educational programs for international students, helping students from around the world experience Japanese culture and life in Japan. Through this work, I’ve had the opportunity to meet people from many different countries, and I truly enjoy sharing Japanese culture and connecting with people from around the world.
In my cooking class, we won’t just follow recipes. I’d love to share stories about Japanese food culture, the history of washoku (traditional Japanese cuisine), and everyday life in Tokyo while we cook together.
My cooking class is located near Jindaiji Temple, one of the oldest temples in Tokyo. If you’re interested, I can also introduce you to the history and culture of the Jindaiji area and show you around the temple.
I want you to learn not only how to cook Japanese dishes, but also the stories and traditions behind them. We’ll focus on dishes that you can make easily in your own country after you return home, using ingredients that are relatively easy to find.
Let’s enjoy cooking in a relaxed, homey atmosphere, while chatting about Japanese culture, local life, travel, and everyday experiences in Tokyo.
And of course, once everything is ready, we’ll sit down together and enjoy the food we’ve made. “Itadakimasu!”
I hope you’ll join me for a warm and enjoyable experience of Japanese home cooking, culture, and local Tokyo life!
