Three color dango
Dango are mochi in a form of a ball. We will be making mochi balls in a three colors to represent a spring dessert.
- Fruit Daifuku
Daifuku are mochi with a bean paste filling. We will be wrapping strawberries or other seasonal fruit in the mochi as well.
- Mochi Ice Cream (Demo Only)
I will be showing you how to wrap ice cream in mochi.
- Warabi Mochi (Demo Only + Tasting)
Warabi Mochi is a gelatin like wobbly mochi that is rolled in kinako (roasted soy bean powder)
- Isobe Mochi (Tasting)
This is a savory mochi that is grilled and basted with soy sauce then wrapped in Nori Sea weed
In this class, you can learn the history of japanese rice cake, mochi. In the lesson, you will make Daifuku and three coloured dango. There will also be a demonstration of how to make mochi-ice-cream, warabi-mochi and isobe-mochi which you can taste with green tea.
In a comfortable atmosphere, you will be able to take photos during the lesson.
By the end of the lesson, you will know how to make 5 types mochi!
