Making bento class
I am a homemaker living in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture. I love cooking, learning English, and cultural exchange. I want to cook Japanese home-cooked meals together and share about Japanese ingredients, seasonings, and cooking methods. I also want to hear everyone's cooking memories. Would you like to spend a fun time together?
Bento is a traditional and cherished culture in Japanese households.
Why not try making a bento box that will delight your family?
We'll pack rice and classic side dishes to create a bento box that not only looks good but also has a balanced nutrition.
You'll be able to take it to work, school, or on outings. How about joining us?"
[Greeting]
Hello! My name is Kyoko.
At our cooking class, I offer lessons where we cook traditional Japanese dishes together with people from around the world. Through delicious food, we create opportunities for international exchange.
[My Story]
From a young age, I have loved both cooking and English. I enjoyed watching my mother cook in the kitchen, and I gradually learned to cook by mimicking her.
My interest in English began when I joined my elementary school’s English club and was captivated by the sounds of the Mother Goose rhymes.
In 2015, we hosted our first international student from abroad. She was a student from Taiwan who had come to Japan to study Japanese. To welcome her, I prepared some homemade dishes . She was so delighted by the meal.
This experience made me realize how different food habits and culinary cultures can be across countries, and I found it fascinating.
This led me to want to interact more with people from other countries, so I began studying English on my own.
These experiences strengthened my desire to deepen exchanges with people from around the world through cooking and to contribute to building a society where we can appreciate and respect each other's differences, regardless of nationality or culture.
This inspired me to start a cooking school specifically for foreigners.
I hope you will enjoy our lessons.
