Mimosa is the Japanese confectionary cooking class located in Kamakura, the old coastal town surrounded by beautiful mountain and beach. At Mimosa you can touch the sensitivity of the Japanese culture through the making of traditional Japanese sweets beyond with sharing great moments of seasons in Kamakura.
We will meet at Yuigahama Station which is 2 stops from Kamakura by Enoshima Line.My salon is about 3 minutes from this station.
Will learn about the seasonal concept of traditional Japanese sweets and its recipe.
Will make 2 kinds of Japanese sweets by using traditional Japanese sweets making tools. The sweets you make depend on seasonal theme. You can find monthly sweets at my instagram account (@mimosakamakura). We will also make Dorayaki at every lesson.
Born in Germany and graduated college in Boston, and now live in Kamakura. I have studied making Japanese sweets (Wagashi) for over 15 years . In the course of learning it more in depth and finding its cultural and art aspects, its beauty and history, and I want to share it with travelers who visit Kamakura.Kamakura is very historical city with many temples and statures surrounded by beautiful oceans and mountains but also the place where people love and welcome new things from all over the world and take it into their original and unique culture. I started this lessons because I want to share Japanese history and culture through making sweets but in modern way with relax and casual atmosphere.
