In this lesson, you will learn how to make some dishes using tofu and how to make onigiri.
First, I will explain how to cook rice and how to make dashi broth.
Then, you will make onigiri. It takes a little skill to make them triangular.
Next, we will prepare the tofu hamburger steaks. The students will mash the drained tofu and mix it with beef and other ingredients to form them.
Next, we will make Shiraae. The students will mash sesame seeds and tofu in a mortar and pestle, add various seasonings, and use the tofu paste. They will add vegetables boiled in dashi broth and mix it to make Shiraae.
The deep-fried tofu and clear soup are not difficult, so I will make them while explaining how to make them.
Finally, we will grill the tofu hamburger steaks, and then we will have fun tasting them.
I have been teaching cooking classes for home cooking for 15 years, but recently I have come to want to spread beautiful and healthy Japanese home cooking to people overseas. I will be teaching not only sushi and tempura, but also the home cooking that we usually make when entertaining guests in Japan, especially tofu dishes. I hope that through home cooking, we can deepen our interactions with people from various countries, and that the experience in the cooking class will become a fun memory of our time in Japan.
