• Goulash
Goulash is a hearty stew originating from Central Europe, made with tender beef, onions, and paprika for a rich and flavorful taste. My version includes a slow-cooked method that enhances the depth of flavor and is perfect for warming up on cold days.
• Bolognese
Bolognese is a classic Italian meat sauce, made with ground beef, onions, carrots, celery, and tomatoes. I will teach you how to simmer it to perfection, creating a sauce that pairs beautifully with pasta. My secret ingredient? A splash of red wine for a bold flavor.
• Austrian Pork Belly
Pork belly is a rich and tender cut, slow-roasted to achieve a crispy crackling. I’ll share my techniques for seasoning and roasting, along with ideas for pairing it with sides like roasted vegetables or a tangy apple chutney.
• Carbonara
Carbonara is a creamy Roman pasta dish made with eggs, Parmesan cheese, pancetta, and black pepper. We will learn how to create a silky sauce without cream, using only traditional techniques for an authentic experience.
• Focaccia
Focaccia is an Italian flatbread known for its soft texture and fragrant olive oil topping. I’ll guide you through making this from scratch, adding rosemary and sea salt for a perfect complement to any meal.
In this cooking class, you can choose one of the following dishes to cook together: Goulash, Bolognese, Carbonara, Focaccia, or Pork Belly!
Each dish has its own unique story and flavors. Before we start cooking, we’ll take 15–30 minutes (or longer if needed) to dive into the history and cultural significance of the dish you’ve chosen. We’ll also discuss the ingredients and preparation process in detail to ensure you understand each step.
For example:
For Goulash, we’ll talk about its Central European roots and the importance of paprika.
With Carbonara, we’ll explore its Roman origins and the art of achieving a creamy sauce without cream.
Once we’re ready, we’ll begin cooking step-by-step together. You’ll learn essential techniques, such as kneading dough for Focaccia, slow-roasting Pork Belly for crispy skin, or perfecting the sauce for a rich Bolognese.
By the end of this session, you’ll not only create a delicious dish but also gain a deeper appreciation for its history and preparation. Let’s make something amazing together!
