・Flowing Cold Somen Noodles

Somen noodles are very thin noodles made of wheat flour, salt, and water.
Somen Nagashi ( Nagashi Somen) is a summer tradition in Japan.
The noodles are dropped into running water.
Dip noodles into a cool dipping sauce and eat them.

・Onigiri (Rice Ball)

・Warabi Mochi with Matcha powder

Warabi Mochi is a traditional Japanese dessert made from potato starch, water and sugar and topped off with syrup.

    Onigiri is a Japanese comfort food made from steamed rice formed into the typical triangular, ball, or cylinder shapes and usually wrapped with nori(dried seaweed). Stuffed with a a variety of fillings and flavors, these rice balls make an ideal quick snack and are a fun alternative to sandwitches for lunch.

    Rice is a staple food in Japan. In all most every family, there is a rice cooker. There is variety of Japanese rice brands such as Koshihikari and Hitomebore.

Cooking Class Information

・Flowing Cold Somen Noodles
①In a large pot, add water and bring to a boil
② Add noodles into the boiling water and
cook the noodles
④ Rinse the noodles under running water
⑤ The noodles are dropped into running water.
⑥ Catch noodles with chopsticks when they are in front of you.
⑦ Dip noodles into a cool dipping sauce and eat them.

・Onigiri (Rice Ball)
① Place some rice on your hand and put your favorite filling on the rice.
② Form the rice into the triangle by pressing lightly with your both palms.

・Warabi Mochi with Matcha powder
① put potato starch and sugar into a pan and pour water and mix them
② place it on an oven and heat it with medium fire
③ transfer the mixture into a container
④ place the container into the ice bath and wait for 60 minutes until it cools down.

I have an authentic tea ceremony experience class, Japanese sweets (Nerikiri) class and Ramen &Gyoza class, Cold Noodles in Yokohama, Japan.
I used to be an English teacher for about 25 years in Japan.
When I have ever lived in America for one year, I was very surprised to know the popularity of Japanese Culutre like Anime, Japanese food and tea ceremony.

So I would like to get to know Japanese culture more by enjoying to make Japanese sweets (Nerikiri) and drink Matcha (Green Tea) and Ramen &Gyoza, Cold Noodles cooking class.

I live in Yokohama of Kanagawa Prefecture. It takes about 30 minutes on train from around Shibuya. Yokohama is also many famous places like Ramen Museum.
