    Tea Ceremony

The Japanese tea ceremony is a centuries-old tradition closely tied to Zen Buddhist principles, and a popular way to experience Japanese culture. There are several variations on this ritual. At its base, powdered green tea (matcha) is prepared and served in accordance with strict rules. Oftentimes, wagashi (Japanese sweets) is served alongside the bitter green tea.

About Host

Hi, my name is Yuko.
I have one son and cook almost everyday for my family.
I am currently training to be a tea ceremony teacher.

Oshi-Sushi (pressed Sushi) is very popular Sushi, which is a type of Sushi made by laying rice and ingredients in a square mold and pressing down on them to harden them.
Unlike Nigiri Sushi, Oshi Sushi can be made in large quantities at once. It can be cut into pieces and eaten, so it is often used at parties and as a gift.

There is a trick to making Matcha tea, so I can tell you how to serve each sip with care.
As a part of my cooking class, I can also provide cultural information on Japanese culture and the tea ceremony.

I love to be in contact with different cultures, so I’d like to talk with people from various countries.

I’m looking forward to seeing you.
