    Rice is a staple food in Japan. In all most every family, there is a rice cooker. There is variety of Japanese rice brands such as Koshihikari and Hitomebore.

Cooking Class Information

In this class, you will make a beautiful flower sushi roll using pink sushi rice colored naturally with beetroot.
You’ll measure the rice, cut the seaweed with scissors, and carefully assemble each piece — a delicate and unique Japanese art experience.
By following the recipe step by step, you’ll be amazed to see a perfect flower appear when you cut the roll!

For miso soup, we make the broth (dashi) from bonito flakes, add seasonal vegetables, and finish with miso.
You’ll enjoy both the taste and beauty of Japanese home cooking in a cozy atmosphere.

Hello! My name is Tomoko. I raised three children with homemade meals every day, and I’ve been studying English for over ten years. Last year, I joined a short study program abroad, which made me realize once again how beautiful and delicious Japanese food is. That inspired me to start sharing it with people from around the world.

My home is in Kitahiroshima, a quiet residential area near Sapporo. Here, you can enjoy cooking and create unforgettable memories in a warm, homely atmosphere. During the gardening season, you can also enjoy the flowers in my garden.
