Discover Japanese Flavor & Culture
Begin with dashi, the soul of Japanese cooking. Watch as Kombu and Katsuobushi release a delicate aroma in a calm, meditative process.
Next, enjoy sushi made right before your eyes by a skilled chef. Freshly prepared dashi becomes a comforting miso soup, served alongside your sushi. Eat to your heart’s content!
Finish with Japanese calligraphy, writing your name in Kanji with a traditional brush. A mindful, tactile keepsake to take home.
This is more than a class—it’s a full-sensory journey into Japanese flavor, form, and philosophy. Little hands are welcome, and yes, a bit of ink-stained fun is part of the memory!
Learn to make white dashi (kombu + katsuobushi) for full umami flavor. You’ll also see other broths using dried fish, mushrooms, scallops, and shrimp—Japanese cuisine’s “fifth taste” at its finest.
Your host, a seasoned sushi chef, will hand-form sushi right before you. Served with the most delicious miso soup you’ve ever tasted!
Watch the chef make miso soup using your dashi—aromatic, rich, and a whole new level compared to regular miso.
Enjoy 12–13 varieties of freshly prepared sushi. Generous portions are served, and seconds are always welcome.
The chef writes each guest’s first name in Japanese kanji as a keepsake. Then, try your own brush calligraphy under expert guidance.
Write the name of someone you love or a favorite word in kanji and English. Readable is perfect; take your artwork home as a unique souvenir or gift.
Wrap up with a group photo and a heartfelt “until we meet again.” Soak in the laughter, smells, and smiles—today’s memories will stay with you forever.
