Octopus Sakura Rice & Temari Sushi – A Taste of Spring in Japan
In this class, learn how to make beautiful spring dishes inspired by the cherry blossom season. You will prepare fragrant octopus Sakura rice—a comforting Japanese rice dish cooked with octopus and beautifully presented to reflect the scenery of cherry blossoms—and learn how to shape elegant Temari Sushi into small decorative balls by hand. These dishes offer a wonderful opportunity to experience and appreciate Japan’s cherry blossom culture more deeply, including the tradition of Hanami (cherry blossom viewing), enjoyed by people in Japan for centuries, including during the Edo period.
