Juicy, healthy and bursting with fresh and vibrant colors and flavours! Gemista or yemista (which in Greek means ‘filled with’) is a traditional recipe for Greek stuffed tomatoes and/or other vegetables that are baked, until soft and nicely browned.

Greek salad or horiatiki salad is a salad in Greek cuisine. Greek salad is made with pieces of tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, onion, mizithra or feta cheese, and olives, typically seasoned with salt and Greek mountain oregano, and dressed with olive oil.

Also, you will learn how to make the traditional "phyllo" dough and create the famous Cretan cheese pieswith mizithra cheese which are served as a dessert with honey
The tour starts by visiting a unique olive oil mill in Kolymvari where will take place the olive oil tasting in two different ways. The expert there will explain to you everything concerning the extraction of olive oil and you will explore the room of production. You will have a Greek coffee before continuing the tour.
The arrival at the small and picturesque village of “Nippos” will be around 11:00, were will precede a short walk, for about 15 minutes, through the village. The end up will be at the square of the village and at the traditional taverna, where the first glass of raki for the day will help you to prepare for the cooking class.
Mrs. Despoina, a lovely cook, will be waiting in order to start the traditional Cretan cooking class. Suit up and be impressed by the quality of the organic products. You will use products literally picked up from the backyard of Mrs. Maria's garden and you will learn how to make delicious ntako (crumbled tomatoes on traditional brusquettes), the classic tzatziki, lachanontolmades, gemista (stuffed vegetables with rice and herbs) and a Greek salad. Also, you will learn how to make the traditional "phyllo" dough and create the famous Cretan cheese pies.
After the cooking ends, lunch follows with the main dish prepared in advance by Mrs. Despoina. All this of course with unlimited raki, local wine (red or white) and food stories. To finish your meal, enjoy a typical dessert of the Cretan diet, meaning fresh fruit, yogurt with honey or traditional spoon sweet. You will be back at around 15:30.
After the pick up...we will go to a olive oil factory to learn about olive oil and taste the real cretan olive oil!
