Tonkatsu Set Meal
In this class, you’ll learn how to make one of Japan’s most popular home-style meals: Tonkatsu.
Tonkatsu is a crispy breaded pork cutlet made with pork loin. We’ll serve it with freshly cooked rice and authentic miso soup to create a traditional Japanese set meal.
The miso soup is made with dashi prepared from kombu (kelp) and bonito flakes, and seasoned with my homemade miso.
For dessert, you’ll make Fruit Daifuku, a traditional Japanese sweet made with fresh fruit, sweet white bean paste, and soft mochi.

Tonkatsu

Finish the class with a relaxing matcha experience. I’ll demonstrate a casual Japanese tea style, then you’ll prepare and enjoy your own bowl of matcha.
I have over 20 years of experience teaching authentic Japanese home cooking and have been welcoming international guests for more than 3 years.
In my cooking classes, you’ll enjoy making authentic Japanese dishes from scratch in a warm and welcoming local home. From handmade ramen and udon to sushi, tempura, okonomiyaki, wagashi, and matcha, I’ll guide you step by step while sharing Japanese food culture, traditions, and everyday life.
