    Gyoza is a dumpling using wrapping thing dough to hold the inner ingredients. Most commonly, minced pork, cabbage, Garlic and Leek. The origin of Gyoza is from China but it has evolved uniquely in Japan and now quite different from the Chinese one.

Cooking Class Information

In this cooking class, we will make Hamamatsu dumplings. Hamamatsu gyoza is a famous gyoza dumpling in Japan and is characterized by a lot of cabbage and Chinese chives. Hamamatsu dumplings are always served with bean sprouts. In class, vegetables are cut, mixed with meat, and wrapped in dumpling skins. Steam it in a frying pan. The rice used in the rice balls is a brand called Akita Komachi, which has a chewy texture and is delicious. The contents of the rice ball are salmon and bonito flakes. Miso soup is a Japanese soup .we cut fresh vegetables from the kitchen garden and put them in miso soup.

I am from Hamamatsu city. Hamamatsu is a city famous for gyoza. Hamamatsu dumplings are full of cabbage and Chinese chives, and sprouts are served with the dumplings.
Also, my husband is from Hiroshima. Hiroshima is famous for Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. Hamamatsu gyoza and Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki are both very famous in Japan.
Saitama City, where my home is located, is famous for bonsai. The Bonsai Museum is located in a very accessible location.
