Amsterdam cooking workshop: Pasta is always a good idea!
We will make fresh pasta dough using flour and water, which you will use to make traditional pasta shapes: cavatelli and mafalde.
We will pair the pasta shapes with two delicious pasta sauces:
-a quick version of the traditional, all-time favorite ragù alla Bolognese, and
-a vegan parsley pesto sauce.
To finish, we will make the all-time favorite Tiramisù
If you prefer to avoid meat, I am also offering vegetarian & vegan pasta sauces, which include:
-walnut pesto,
-a vegan/vegetarian version of the ragù.
This Amsterdam cooking workshop is pretty hands on, as the purpose is for you to learn by doing how to make these traditional italian recipes so that you can easily replicate them at home and boost your cooking skills!
The Amsterdam cooking class lasts an average of 4 hours. We’ll start with a small aperitif to get to know each other, then we’ll make the pasta & tiramisu to enjoy with a nice glass of wine.
Each cooking class will have 4 to 9 people. You can come by yourself or bring your friends to this fun activity! For bigger or private groups/events, please contact me directly at contact@the-balanced-plate.com.
Group booking discounts available! Participants must be 18+ unless accompanied.

We start the workshop by making fresh pasta dough using flour and water
2 sauces - so 2 pasta shapes are needed. With the dough you just made, you can choose to make both shapes, or less.
Each team prepares one of the three sauces, which will be paired with a pasta shape. This is orecchiette with vegan parsley pesto
Ciao! I am Micaela, Italian living abroad for the past 10 years (mainly London, now in Amsterdam), with a burning passion for cooking and eating healthy and delicious food.
Living abroad, I always struggle to find the right ingredients to make traditional Italian meals, so it has been my mission to find local alternatives to replicate the beautiful dishes I grew up with (and miss a lot).
I have two goals: to boost food lovers’ confidence and passion in the kitchen, and to improve their quality of life by teaching simple, healthier versions with a vegetarian/vegan twist alongside the traditional recipe.
I offer Italian cooking workshops in Amsterdam at the lovely Olivity: like I did for myself, I want you to upgrade your skills in the kitchen so that you can fill your life with flavorful and healthier dishes to nurture your body in the best way, without using fixed diets and calorie counting.
I want my workshop customers to feel inspired, happy, understood, and able to impress themselves and their loved ones with outstanding culinary creations. Buon appetito!
